Fly drive holidays

A fly drive holiday is where you pay for a flight and a car and then drive yourself on your holiday. You can either follow a pre-planned itinerary or see where the road takes you and find accommodation on the way - the choice is yours.

You can take a fly drive holiday in most places of the world, although some will be more challenging than others, especially where there are language and cultural differences. However, the classic destinations are North America, South Africa, Malaysia, Australia & New Zealand and of course Europe.

So is this the type of holiday for me?

Yes if you...

  • Enjoy driving and are comfortable with driving abroad.
  • Love the freedom of the open road and enjoy planning your own day
  • Love to explore at your own pace
  • Can follow a map - or even a sat nav - available in many rental locations now!
  • Enjoy being independent

No if you...

  • Don't like driving
  • Have no sense of direction
